"Stand up; I too am a man." - Act 10:26
I have just finished reading the longest book I have ever read, by far. ‘A Promised Land’, a memoir by Barack Obama. The book has a whopping 768 pages long. It documents Obama’s life from his early years through the events leading to his presidency, as well as some of the major events during his presidency. Obama is probably my biggest role model in life. And after reading this book, I am more certain of it. One of the principles in life which I always remind myself is, ‘you only have one life, you would want to do the right thing’. And Obama is, in my opinion, someone who does just this, on top of a charismatic and composed leader. To be exact, I actually got the audiobook and ‘listened’ to the whole book instead of reading it. It still took an imaginable 29 hours of listening time, and I was making use of every commuting, and driving opportunity to listen to it.
I was patiently waiting for a long time and the past week was finally my turn to apply for the Covid19 vaccination in Singapore. Unfortunately, I was deemed unsuitable to take the vaccination, due to my severe (life-threatening) allergic reaction to prawns. A big bummer, since I took a really long time to make up my mind that it was something I wanted for myself and my family.
